COM61804 | Task 3 - Content Planning
10/06/2026 - 22/06/2026 (Week 8 - Week 14)
MIB
PROCESS
Week 8We started off the last section of the project by completing the spreadsheets for our content plan for Loka Made's August social media posting. For the content part, we decided to take inspiration from Loka Made's existing media. We found from our previous research that focusing on the heritage and traditions of Malaysia would work well for a campaign, especially in the month of August when the country celebrate's it's independence and formation.
The title of the campaign plays on a double meaning: "drawn" highlights Loka Made’s signature illustrated artwork, while "from here" emphasizes the brand's focus and inspiration of deep Malaysian roots. The main problem we focused on was that Loka Made’s existing social postings targets only current fans. This creates a gap for new visitors who struggle to understand what the brand offers and or how to make a purchase.
Our content pillars are split according to the following:
The August campaign execution roadmap progresses across five strategic phases, moving from initial introduction and education to engagement, activation, and campaign closing.
Once the posting dates and the direction for each individual post was finalised, we divided up the workload among the group, with each member doing two posts each.
Once we have all finished and reviewed each other's posts and gave comments, we amended and finalised the submission version. Then, we moved on to designing the presentation slides for the upcoming presentation for the panelist.
FEEDBACK
REFLECTION
Throughout this project, I learned how research, audience understanding and content planning work together to form a social media strategy. The initial social media analysis showed me that decisions should not be based only on what looks visually appealing. Each recommendation should be supported by engagement data and connected to a clear problem faced by the brand.
Creating the empathy maps and user personas helped me understand Loka Made’s audience beyond basic demographic information. Developing personas with different ages, routines and struggles showed me the importance of considering the audience’s needs, behaviours and experiences instead of relying on assumptions. It also taught me that each persona should represent a different perspective to avoid repeating similar traits.
For the final task, we applied these findings to “Drawn From Here,” a month-long social media campaign focused on Loka Made’s Malaysian heritage and illustration style. Planning the content pillars helped me understand how educational, engagement and conversion-based posts can work together to improve brand awareness and encourage action. Designing A01 and A06 also gave me more experience in creating reel-based content according to a campaign’s visual direction and objectives.
As the group leader, I also gained experience in delegating tasks, organising information and maintaining consistency across the report, campaign posts and presentation. Reviewing each other’s work helped us improve the final outcome, although our presentation could have been smoother with more rehearsal. Overall, this project showed me that an effective social media campaign requires a clear connection between research, audience needs, strategy and visual communication.
